How I Help People Arrested for Michigan OWI
Back to Video Library
Patrick, someone comes in your office and is interviewing you and you are interviewing that prospective client, what are some of the first things that you go on in that interview that would be of relevance for our viewers?
I always try to collect as much information as I can from a client before they come in. I do that to make my time more valuable but also to make their time more valuable. I want to spend about an hour with the client and I want to make sure that I answer as many questions as I can . What I’m really trying to do is provide them with information because as I said before, the more information I can provide for them the more at ease they will feel.
If I provide the information to them in a way that sounds like I’m not adding a lot of hype and I’m just giving it to them in an objective straight forward way, then that creates an impression and an image compared to a lawyer who comes in and doesn’t know anything about their case. They immediately tell’s them what they’re going to do and that they know someone at the court who can pull strings and what have you. I’m trying to provide them with information so that they can really make an informed decision.
So they will fill out forms before they sit down with you?
On my internet site for example, I have about a 25 question form that can actually be filled out on the Internet. Often before the client comes in if they have decided that they want to actually come in and meet with me, I send to them almost a 30 page questionnaire. A copy of it is in my book. It goes through virtually every aspect of the case from start to finish. Before they started drinking all the way through till the time they were released by the police. The more information I can collect from them the better use I can make of their time when they’re in my office. Most importantly the better chance I’m going to have in obtaining a successful result for them. There is no question that details win cases.
